DEVA CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL
It was after the shocking scenes were shown on world television that Peter Spring led the teams of young men 1,500 miles in old trucks full of desperately needed medical and linen supplies for the children’s health and comfort.
The building itself was found to be in a disgustingly run down state where orphans and unwanted children were hidden from public view.
Teams were taken out a number of times and after brightening the whole place, replacing light bulbs and painting everywhere in bright colours, time was given to make the whole structure sound and healthy. No longer the drab and smelly place they first encountered.
DEVA ORPHANAGE (Placement 1)
After the initial urgent first aid, Teams over the years built new Kitchen and Toilet blocks, financing new building for Administration.
Before completing their work TFR revolutionised the orphanage by building an adventure playground backed by a 60-foot long mural, bringing a real smile on the faces of those deprived children.
FOLT - FUNDATIA HUMANITAS Pro Deo
Petru MIKLOS and his wife bring boys from town sewers to their once derelict farm in the small village of Folt to provide them with a home and Christian love.
With carpentry tools, lathes and machinery given by TFR, the young men are taught skills needed to make their own way in life. The pine furniture and fencing they make has, along with TFR funding, created the income for a new dormitory now enjoyed by the boys as pigs and chickens now reside in their old farm building.
HATSEG – JESUS HOPE OF ROMANIA
This home was built to the architectural plans drawn up by TFR. The picture shows a visit by a group of TFR volunteers as they discuss further funding to cover the cost of interior plastering.
Now completed the home houses 33 homeless girls with no money, too old to continue living in an orphanage.
